We are delighted to announce that Morris Legal has been named as an excellence awardee in three categories for the 2022 New Zealand Law Awards. The New Zealand Law Awards recognise excellence in the legal profession. Category finalists are judged across all aspects of performance and 25 awards will be presented to the most outstanding law firms and lawyers in New Zealand.
Morris Legal is an excellence awardee in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Specialist Law Firm of the Year and Boutique Firm of the Year categories. Sally Morris, the founding partner of Morris Legal, is an excellence awardee in the Managing Partner of the Year (≤100 Lawyers) category.
On opening its doors in 2016, Morris Legal fast established a reputation as the preeminent litigation firm in New Zealand dealing with contentious trust, estate and relationship property matters. In January 2022, Morris Legal expanded the partnership, further strengthening the firm’s litigation capability and expertise. This is the sixth consecutive year that Morris Legal has been a finalist in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution category at the New Zealand Law Awards, demonstrating the firm’s continued excellence in this area.
In 2020, Morris Legal extended its offering to advisory services, including succession, wealth planning, trust and estate advice. The firm now provides a full end to end private client service, assisting clients in their personal lives and in their roles as settlors, trustees, executors, beneficiaries and business owners. Morris Legal’s excellence award for Boutique Firm of the Year recognises the success of the firm’s private client practice and ability to provide advice on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Since founding Morris Legal over five years ago, Sally Morris has lead the firm through significant growth. Under Sally’s leadership, Morris Legal was named on the Innovative Firms list for 2021 and the Top Boutique Firms list for 2022. Sally was also named in the NZ Lawyer Elite Women list for 2021 for her exceptional leadership and performance. Sally continues to represent clients in all New Zealand courts and is frequently engaged to speak at industry conferences and events.
