Morris named as excellence awardee for the New Zealand Law Awards 2021

We are delighted to announce that Morris has been named as an excellence awardee in two categories for the 2021 New Zealand Law Awards. The New Zealand Law Awards recognise excellence in the legal profession. Category finalists are judged across all aspects of performance and 26 awards will be presented to the most outstanding law firms and lawyers in New Zealand.

Morris is an excellence awardee in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Specialist Law Firm of the Year category and Sally Morris, the founding partner of Morris, in the Managing Partner of the Year (≤100 Lawyers) category.

On opening its doors in 2016, Morris fast established a reputation as the preeminent litigation firm in New Zealand dealing with contentious trust, estate and relationship property matters. The firm has been a finalist in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Specialist category at the New Zealand Law Awards for five consecutive years.

In 2020, Morris expanded its offering to advisory services, including succession, wealth planning, trust and estate advice. The firm now provides a full end to end private client service, assisting clients in their personal lives and in their roles as settlors, trustees, executors, beneficiaries and business owners.

Since Sally Morris founded Morris, she has lead the firm through significant growth. The success of Morris has seen the team grow by 700 per cent in less than five years. Sally now leads a team of 16 people, including five senior lawyers, six solicitors and a graduate. In January this year, Morris moved to larger premises on level 36 of the PwC Tower at Commercial Bay. The move is in keeping with the firm’s commitment to deliver an unparalleled service to its clients.
