Tom Kelly

Tom is a senior solicitor at Morris. Tom received his BA/LLB conjoint degree from the University of Otago.

Tom began his legal career as a junior criminal defence barrister before moving to Grove Darlow & Partners in 2018 to focus on general litigation. Tom has experience in a wide range of litigation matters including body corporate disputes, construction claims, debt recovery and insolvency proceedings and trust and estate claims. Tom regularly appears in the District Court and High Court and has attended several mediations with senior counsel.

Since joining Morris in 2023, Tom has specialised in high net worth relationship property disputes, involving complex trust and company structures. He also has experience with care of children and family violence matters.

Tom has presented at industry seminars and guest lectured Bachelor of Property students at the University of Auckland on trusts.

Tom is a member of the Family Law Section.
